Here is Ramon Herrera’s Interview:
Have you had any great mentors in your life/career? Jason Woodson. At my previous employer, he helped me tremendously in regards to growing within the Palo Alto Networks platform. He provided assistance, advice, guidance, and allowed me to lead projects. I feel because of his mentorship, I was able to grow as much as I did.
What is the best advice you have received? The best advice I have received is from my dad. H told me to always put forth 100% no matter what you are doing at work, even if it’s cleaning a toilet or sweeping. Do your best and be the best.
Tell us about your career before Entelligence? I worked at NTT Security (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation). I worked there approximately from 2014-2019. I started as an information security analyst, received a promotion to Network administrator within a year, and in another year after that received another promotion to Networks Security Engineer (Palo Alto SME).
What’s your favorite spot to spend time in your hometown? I love fishing and grilling at the park.
What are you reading or listening to these days? I read the Palo Alto documentation, and really enjoy the Harry Potter books. I listen to a lot of Mexican Regional music.
What milestones are you most proud of and what are you looking toward in the future?The position I’m in today with Entelligence is the milestone I am most proud of. I feel I have definitely grown in my skills, which has resulted in being hired by Entelligence.
What do you do to relax? I cook, watch Netflix, clean my truck, help my step kid build with legos, and smoke food on the grill.
What attracted you to Entelligence? And what keeps you here? I’m not sure what attracted me. A recruiter reached out to me and now I stay here because of the excellent support I have received from everyone I have contacted with any problems, such as management, HR, etc. I stay here because the salary is great and fair. I absolutely love the remote aspect of the job/career.
